S H O U J O C O N  2 0 0 2 !

We arrived at Shoujocon at around 3:00 on Friday afternoon.  This year, since our summer is doomed to be the most boring summer of my life, we decided to get a room at the con! Which was really great because then we could go back up there and put our stuff there instead of having to carry it around everyone, and lots of other reasons, too.  o.o;; Unlike last year, the line was non-existant, so we didn't have to wait to sign up!  Last year, the line was so long we had to wait, I don't know, a half hour to an hour (?) just to sign up.  They even set aside a specific place for the line this time.

After taking our stuff up to the room, we went straight to the Dealer's Room. Once again, there was no wait trying to get in!  It might have been because it was Friday, and not as many people were there (last year we only went on Saturday). Then again, there wasn't any line at all on Saturday either. O_o;  I bought a Kero-chan plushie to carry around everywhere!  Yay for Kero-chan! ^_^ I also bought a backpack thingy with Kero on it, since I need a new backpack for school anyway.

After the Dealer's Room, we went up to the Con Suite. There we found an old friend of mine!  I haven't spoken to her in a long time, though I saw her at Washington. It was really weird, too, because I'd had a dream that I would see her at Shoujocon. O_o;;; I'm psychic! Or maybe it was just a coincidence.  Anywho, I really must re-watch all our Fushigi Yuugi vhs.  My friend was Miaka, but I couldn't remember anything that happened in it. ><

We went back to the Dealer's room after that, but since my sister and I didn't have money with us at the time, we decided to go on a search for the room the Whack-a-Thon would be held in.  Unfortunately we didn't find it. Then, much to my torture, we went out to eat in costume! It was a good thing that Wendy's wasn't that crowded. Still. I'm not one who likes to be different, stand out, and be the center of attention (especially if everyone's staring at me like I'm crazy).  Anywho.

Upon our return to the con, we went to watch the DDR contest. I've never seen it before (I wasn't even quite sure what it was until then), so it was really interesting to watch.  lol, yes, a deprived little child I am.  It looks like fun though  I'd probably trip over my feet or something in the first ten seconds of trying to do it, though.  No coordination whatsoever (but I try to pretend).

SATURDAY

Woke up early to a bright light (for me, anyway... seven or eight o'clock is very early).  We just didn't do anything until nine o'clock, when we went to pick up Ali-chan!  XD  Of course, when we got back to the con, we went straight to the Dealer's Room and bought more stuff and wandered around a bit. It was fun, getting all the pictures of the costumes there! :D There was a Nakuru, and I loved her costume. There were also a lot of other Sakura's, most of whom were in the school uniform.  Which reminds me, Suki-chan was wearing the uniform, but she was not Sakura! She was Tomoyo.  Everyone kept mistaking her as Sakura.  Why would two Sakura's go together, though?  So, yes, if you saw a pink soldier outfit Sakura wandering around, the girl with her was Tomoyo; just thought I should clear that up.   But I really think there were less people there than last year.

Anywho, we eventually found out where the Whack-a-Thon was to be held (finally, I know ^^;), and went to see Nakago whacked!  First, he fell down, so they had to hang him up by his hair!  However, he was 'defeated' within three whacks (someone whacked his head off right away). We got candy!!! Also, while we were waiting, there was a small accident in which I, er, knocked down the sign that said Artist's Alley or Gallery, or whatever, had been moved.  Well, I told you I wasn't very coordinated!

We also kept running into these three Rayearth cosplayers!  I loved their costumes. But we didn't buy a camera until Saturday, so we had to go find them then and take their picture.

At eight o'clock we went to see the cosplay contest. We got there and waited... and waited... and waited... for forty five or so minutes.  To entertain themselves, people threw balloons into the air and tried to keep them in the air; some of them had writing on them.

Once it started, the contst was okay.  I didn't understand some of them (inside jokes, you see). There were two I liked in particular.  When it was over, they just handed out prizes so we left.  (We wouldn't be able to win anything, even if by some slim chance we did go up there.  Not like we would, but anyway.  It was pointless for us to stay).

Sometime before that we entered the Hall Contest, but I doubt we won anything.

SUNDAY

We woke up early again and wandered around for a bit before eventually heading back to the Dealer's Room again. Then Ali-chan came back (she didn't stay overnight at the hotel), and we returned to the Dealer's Room and then sat around for awhile chatting and using up the rest of our camera film (Kero-chan likes pictures of himself, you see ^.~). And then, we returned home, very tired and went to bed.
